Boys State Family Day gives parents, family, and friends the opportunity to have some fun in the sun while meeting their son’s counselors and fellow statesmen. Come learn what your son has been up to at the American Legion Jersey Boys State program and find out why we call it “A Week That Shapes the Future.“

Family Day includes:

  • Cookout with hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta, salad, and dessert
  • Entertainment including selections from the Jersey Boys State Band
  • Jersey Boys State Championship Race (final Sports event of the week)
  • Demonstrations by the New Jersey State Police, US Marine Corps, US Army
  • Best City and Best County awards presentation announcement
  • Final Retreat Ceremony on Daly Sports Field
  • The American Legion Jersey Boys State Graduation Ceremony

The fun of Family Day begins at 11:00am on the Rider University Campus Mall. Each American Legion Jersey Boys State city will have a designated location around the mall where parents can meet their statesmen. Please plan to bring picnic blankets or lawn chairs if you wish to sit outdoors with your son and his city. Limited indoor seating will be available during the picnic.

Family Day Ticket Prices

Adults — $20 / $25 if purchased in person on Friday
Children (12 & under) — $12 / $15 if purchased in person on Friday
Statesmen — FREE (meal sponsored by the New Jersey Boys State Foundation)

How to Purchase Family Day Tickets

Family Day tickets will be available for purchase online through the ALJBS enrollment process on CampSite. Tickets may be paid for with either a credit card or ACH payment. Tickets may be purchased at the time of enrollment or after the enrollment has been completed.

Tickets purchased through CampSite will be emailed to you before Family Day on Friday, June 20th.

Charitable donation to help offset the cost of the food, ticket purchase is required for cookout, but not for other activities including Graduation Ceremony.

In the event of rain, meals will be served inside Daly Dining Hall.
